Greetings:
Camp Sionito's March work party was held March 14-16, 2008. Mike Thrutchley has filed the following report:
We had 35 dedicated workers this weekend.
Trees:
Eighteen (18) new trees were planted and watering systems were installed.
Chapel:
Electrical wiring was finished, framing completed, windows installed, walls insulated and at least half of the interior siding was installed.
Children's Area:
Most all stored materials were moved to other locations in anticipation of summer use. In the Children's Tabernacle, one door was installed, the rest of the hearty siding was put up, roof tails framed, wind bracing was completed, framing around the bottom half of the walls, ceiling fans were wired, the floors were power washed, the lower walls were insulated and paneled and the upper walls were insulated and about half way covered. The east side of the Children's Tabernacle was painted in preparation for a mural to be painted on the wall.
Storage Facility:
The tin was moved to the barn area and partly installed on the west side, finished the rafters and bracing on the west side of the barn, got the bulk of the decking down for the second story, put up trusses on the east side of the barn, worked on ceiling joice on the east side of the barn, installed about half of the 1x4s on the west side of the barn and put lumber on beds
(racks) and sorted lumber for the next work party.
Lodge:
Cactus cut outs were put up on ceiling of the Lodge cabin 7 and in Missionary 22. The wood ceiling was also worked on in Lodge 7. Siding was completed in the girl's bath upstairs of the Lodge, metal ceiling was completed in the boy's Lodge bathroom, all the metal we had on hand was put on the living room ceiling of the staff suite of the Lodge and various trim pieces were installed. The ceiling fan was reinstalled after the metal ceiling in the staff suite.
Generally:
An AC unit was installed in the phone equipment room. For one and a half days materials were consolidated and much was taken to the barn. The new canoe trailer was taken to San Antonio finishing and painting. The well house next to the Dining Hall was rewired and brought up to code. The base coat for the 11 circuit labyrinth was applied, 2 phone lines were run.
There were probably other things that were done that I can't remember right now.
Thanks to all participants for their hard work.
Only two more work parties before camping season!
